Most recipes for body detox with apple juice are great but so simple, right!? Well, From my whole experience with nutrition elements, the beet is one of the best medicinal plants/veggies I know. In fact, it is used in more and more healthy products, pills (extracts), or food for detox … but more about this bellow, at health benefits. The recipe is very simple, with just two ingredients: apple and red beet (also called sugar beet). You also need a blender and 5 minutes at your disposal.
Having medicinal properties, the beet is used more and more around the world. This veggie has a lot of nutrients in a very small quantity of calories, contain inorganic nitrates and pigments, keeps the blood pressure in check (avoiding heart disease, including heart attacks, heart failure, and stroke), improves athletic performance (extend the time to exhaustion during high-intensity exercises), fights inflammation, improves digestion, improves the brain health, has anti-Cancer properties, and helps you lose weight faster! The blood-pressure-lowering effects are likely due to the high concentration of nitrates in beets. Therefore, I included this super-mega veggie in my recipe for detox, bringing the best results for your body and skin!
Fruits are powerhouses of crucial vitamins and minerals that give you the much-needed anti-oxidants to fight against free radicals and support detox. Apples are also rich in phytochemicals and pectin, both helping detox diets. Therefore, apples are great for this kind of diet, no matter if you eat them as nature made them or turn them in juice and serve in a glass.
For juices, red apples are preferred due to their sweetness. But on the other hand, if you like green apples, use them in your detox diet because these are the perfect match for it, having a very high antioxidant count.
