About Beef, Mushrooms & Oyster Sauce recipe

Every few months I prepare Chinese food a full week. It is great for detox, health benefits, and low-fat, and most of the recipes are great for weight loss. Therefore, this week is all about Chinese cuisine, and the Beef, Mushrooms & Oyster Sauce is perfect for indulging your taste buds with its flavor.  The recipe is very simple to be prepared, has few ingredients, and can be done in 20 minutes. Usually, I like my Chinese food to have baby carrots in its composition, but for Beef & Oyster Sauce dish isn’t really necessary. You can also substitute different seasonal vegetables instead of or in addition to the green beans. Try broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, and capsicum, or try this recipe with these variations.

Tips for preparing Rice, Beef, and other Vegetables:

  1. For easy preparation, place beef in the freezer for 1 hour before slicing; it will be easier to slice when partially frozen. Don’t keep it in the freezer for more than 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  2. For more flavor, use any leftover beef broth to replace part of the water used for cooking the rice. This way you will have more beef-flavored rice, more nutritious and better cooked (this is a PRO tip, I recommend you to keep it 😀 )
  3. If you use frozen green beans, frozen broccoli or any other frozen vegetable,  put them in a strainer, then run cold water over them until the vegetables can be separated easily. Don’t run hot water over them.

Why this recipe is in Chinese cuisine style?

With these ingredients, you can prepare the recipe in many styles, but I chose to prepare it in Chinese Cuisine because I saw the potential and flavor that can be added along with soy and oyster sauce. Moreover, these simple ingredients we all have in our kitchen can have a very positive health effect on our body. Therefore, Chinese cuisine just adds a better flavor.

What if I cannot find Chinese Rice?

There are moments when Chinese rice is totally missing and you want it so bad! But it is not the end of the world though… Aim for long-grain white rice to use as a substitute, and will be fine. It is true that a Chinese dinner is perfect with Chinese rice, but what can we do if we don’t have it? Well, there is a way… if you decide to prepare this dish and have time to buy the ingredients (a few days), buy them from online markets.
