Steps for Homemade Fresh Tomato Salsa

Prepare the Vegetables

Place the bowl near your cutting board. After cutting or chopping each ingredient, add each one to the bowl. Cut the tomato crosswise in half and gently squeeze each half, cut side down, to remove the seeds. Chop the tomatoes.

How to cut the Green Bell Pepper

Cut the bell pepper lengthwise in half, and cut out seeds and membrane. Chop the bell pepper.

Slice the Onion and Garlic

Peel and slice the green onions. Peel and finely chop the garlic.

Prepare the Jalapeño Chili

Cut the stem off the jalapeño chili, cut the chili lengthwise in half and scrape out the seeds. Cut the chili into strips, and then finely chop.

Mix them all and Refrigerate

Add the cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix with strength all the ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour to blend flavors but no longer than 3 days.

Because this salsa with tomatoes recipe is made with fresh ingredients, it will last as long as fresh tomatoes last. It’s best to eat it right after you prepare it. Chilled, the salsa should last about three days, no more. Fresh ingredients taste amazing, but they do not last long once they have been cut.

This is an easy recipe to do, needing only a few ingredients like three medium tomatoes, one small green bell pepper, six medium green onions with tops, three cloves of garlic, one medium jalapeño chili, two tablespoons of chopped fresh cilantro, two tablespoons lime juice and half a teaspoon of salt. For more taste, I recommend trying this dish with flour tortillas or tortilla chips and watching a movie.

  2. If you desire a hotter salsa, leave some of the seeds in the jalapeño chili.
  3. The flesh, ribs, and seeds of chilies contain irritating, burning oils. Wash hands and utensils in soapy water, and be especially careful not to rub your face or eyes until the oils have been washed away.
