BBQ and Grill next dayIn the meantime, you can invite over some friends and start the grill. Take out the marinade from the freezer and let it at room temperature between 30 and 40 Minutes. This way the steak will have time to take-in more sauce. Place the steak on the grill and reverse the meat once every 2-3 minutes. Every time you reverse the steak, rub it gently with some marinade (this prevents sticking on the grill and will leave a very good taste when you'll eat it). Serve your friends and bon appétit. |

About the Hawaiian Marinated Steak Recipe
Hawaiian Marinated Steak is a recipe that includes soy sauce, and where is soy sauce I think it’s awesomeness! That steak marinated one day long and the second day cooked on a grill is a “rainbow” for your taste buds. Trust me, this is one of the best BBQ you ever tasted. Before you take out the grill, you should know that first, you need to marinate the steak and let it in the marinade overnight. Until the next day, don’t touch the steak. Another recommendation is to let it 30-40 minutes at room temperature after being taken out of the freezer. This dish is complete if it’s served alongside a green salad.
For first-timers who are trying Hawaiian Marinated Steak
I do remember when I tasted this Godly Hawaiian Marinated Steak. My friend is one of the best cooks out there and invited me along with other friends at a BBQ party. He knew what we like, but this.. well, this dish nobody had tried it before. After he placed the steak on the grill, it smelled like “heaven”. He knows how to cook, but to surprise us with this simple Hawaiian Marinated Steak was nuts.
Anyway, the steak was on the grill, almost ready, and we could not wait to remove it from the barbecue. But he is a guy with patience, placed the steak in 12 dishes (very slowly, I might add), and served it. When we took the first bite, it was like heaven just opened. All day I begged him to tell me the recipe for this awesome steak. He waited one year to tell me the exact ingredients and how to prepare it. Until I got the recipe, I tried a lot of dishes, but none was like his. Be aware! If you try Hawaiian Marinated Steak, you’ll love it for life!
What temperature do you grill a steak to reach rare, medium, or well-cooked?
Grilled steaks can be cooked (once placed on the grill) for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and slightly charred. Then, turn the steaks over and continue to grill for:
- 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature must reach 135 degrees F).
- 5 to 7 minutes for medium (internal temperature must reach 140 degrees F).
- 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (internal temperature must reach 150 degrees F).
Anyhow, these are general temperatures and timings. For the Hawaiian Marinated Steak, you’ll find the “how-to” in step 4’s description.
Why grilling the steak and not frying?
Frying gives a better crust due to the higher direct heat-producing more Maillard flavors. Grilling, on the other hand, is healthier and has a juicier pink center that we all like. Both offer a great flavor, and it all results in our own taste. What we like the most is the better choice. Returning to the question, “why grilling and not frying“, this Hawaiian Steak is Marinated, and when it’s on the grill, I like to add more marinade every time I turn it over. By frying, you need to use a bit of oil, more than what I’ve written in the ingredients list.
Use Flank or Steak Tips?
To be honest, I like them both, and when I follow this recipe, I use Flank Steak, and next time I will use Steak Tips. That’s why I put them both in the ingredient list. If you make this recipe for the first time, use the Flank steak.
