Steps for Linguini & Lemon

1
Done
10 Minutes

Prepare the Linguini pasta

Put the Linguini pasta into the boiling water and mix, mix, mix! Depending on what Linguini pasta you bought, cook as directed on package. Continue stirring even if you'll do your biceps workout in your kitchen. Using a slotted spoon (or your utensil of choice), fish out a single pasta, let it cool a bit, then take a bite. If it's al-dente, then take out your pasta... if no, let the pot on the heater and try again in one minute. I used Barilla Linguini for this recipe. You can use also spaghetti, fettuccine or penne.

About the Linguini Pasta with Lemon and Garlic Recipe

Linguini Pasta with Lemon and Garlic is a fabulous recipe, one that will please your taste buds, though it is a very simple one. As I said in other articles and recipes, I am a fan of Italian cuisine, and I really like their recipes because are simple, yet very tasty. Although Linguini resembles Spaghetti, do not be confused when you buy the ingredients for this recipe. Because of the difference in flavor, for this dish, Linguini is much more suited than Spaghetti. Moreover, the taste is incredible and the flavors from lemon and garlic are best suited for this dish. I make Linguini pasta with lemon and garlic every month and my family loves it. It’s not only about the flavor of it, but it is also about its simplicity, color, and cook time. For a better taste, search for Italian linguini or go and buy some fresh ones from an Italian restaurant.

Can I add Parmigiano or Parmesan to the recipe?

All recipes with pasta as the main ingredient may have Parmigiano or Parmesan. Basically, these two ingredients are somewhat related. Although it is true to what I wrote, I did not add Parmigiano or Parmesan as an ingredient because, according to my taste, I say it is not necessary. But if you like these ingredients to be tied, add without any second thoughts. Parmigiano is the best option if you want to add. It is the original “parmesan” for pasta.

Vegetarian or Vegan version for Linguini Pasta with Lemon and Garlic

If you have adopted a vegetarian lifestyle, you don’t need to change any ingredient. I’ve made this recipe with a vegetarian lifestyle in mind. If you have adopted a vegan lifestyle, you need to change the linguine or substitute it with a vegan version. Also, as a vegan, you cannot use Parmigiano or Parmesan, but that’s ok, it’s great without them.

Can it help me lose weight?

Yes, it can if eaten in normal quantity. Don’t overeat though, the linguine can help you lose weight if eaten correctly or, if eaten all the time, this dish will help you gain weight. Therefore, measure your serving, and will all be ok.

How to cook Linguini pasta as a professional.

We recommend the Italian styleal-dente, not too mushy yet not too chewy. This means you need a perfect balance, and I’ll show you how to do this.

1. Pick a big pot

Having a large pot gives pasta plenty of space. Do not crowd the pasta into a tight pot.

2. Fill the pot with water

Besides a big pot, you will need a lot of water too. Fill it with water, put it on fire, and add salt. Do not just give a single tap of the salt shaker (give at least 5 taps)! This will give the paste and flavor boost. Bring the water to a full boil.

3. Put the Linguini pasta in the boiling water

Put the Linguini pasta into the boiling water and mix, mix, mix! Depending on what Linguini pasta you bought, cook as directed on the package. Continue stirring even if you’ll do your biceps workout in your kitchen. Using a slotted spoon (or your utensil of choice), fish out a single pasta, let it cool a bit, then take a bite. If it’s al-dente, then take out your pasta… if no, let the pot on the heater and try again in one minute. See here what pasta al-dente means.

4. Drain the water.

If the Linguini pasta is al-dente, place a colander in the kitchen sink and drain the water out. To make sure the pasta will remain unbound of each other, put them under cold water for 5 seconds.
