Today I have had more time than usual on my hands and I could not decide what to do with it. A movie would have been great, listening to Bach, or just relax… But I also wanted something sweet, healthy, and simple. Looking in my cookbook, I saw this simple Strawberry-Banana smoothie recipe and I remembered its taste and flavor. I told you this little story to let you know this: If you want to relax and prepare something delicious, simple, and fast, the best thought is a SMOOTHIE, Strawberry & Banana combo to be more specific.

About the Recipe

The recipe for Strawberry-Banana Smoothie is best to be made during Spring and Summer days, standing on your porch, balcony, veranda, or any spot you can relax. The sweet and sour flavor of strawberry, with its essence of spring, is molding perfectly with the sweet and sour flavor of the banana. But this isn’t enough, adding some organic apple juice will make this smoothie a fabulous non-alcoholic drink. More to that, I also add a teaspoon of grated coconut to make the smoothie even tastier, giving it a new flavor note.

Health Benefits of Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

Due to the high content of minerals (iron, potassium, phosphorus, calcium) and trace elements (zinc, sulfur, iodine), strawberries have tonic properties. The tiny strawberry seeds prevent constipation and contain soluble fibers that lower cholesterol in the blood. Another benefit of strawberries is the presence of a particular sugar (levulose) that is slowly assimilated into the blood. Also, strawberries are known for Immunity Boosters, Fighting against Cancer cells, Skin health, Fights cholesterol, are natural Anti-inflammatory, Keeps Blood Pressure in Check, and Controlling type 2 diabetes.

Banana, on the other hand, has Potassium, Vitamin C, B6, Magnesium, Copper, and Manganese, are rich in fiber and antioxidants, rich in pectin (help moderate blood sugar levels), improve digestive health, aid weight loss, supports heart health, contains powerful antioxidants, improve insulin sensitivity, and improve kidney health. The only thing I do recommend you is to buy organic apple juice, not any other kind.

Strawberry-Banana Smoothie & YOGA

There is a big magnetism between smoothies and yoga, especially Strawberry-Banana Smoothie due to the high load with antioxidants. If you practice yoga or want to start making any kind of body exercises, a smoothie in the morning is all that the doctor ordered. So, Strawberry-Banana Smoothie & Yoga can be your best exercises :p. There is a posting on Instagram regarding the benefits of YOGA and smoothie. Fully Raw Kristina said in an Instagram Post:

Some things have changed recently for me…and I feel better than I ever have. ?
The first is that I’ve been doing hot yoga EVERYDAY for over a year. I’ve been combining this with HIT training, and my body has started to get toned and lean. Before this, I was a long distance runner, and after awhile, I just stopped seeing results.
I’ve been giving intermittent fasting a try. I really love it. My hours have been from 11 AM to 7 PM.
I’ve really been focusing on getting better, deeper sleep. This has been challenging with all my traveling, but considering I basically went 11 years on 3-5 hours of sleep each night…I’m currently winning on 7-8 hours right now. Makes a HUGE difference. I believe I had massive adrenal fatigue at one point, and I’m working to rebuild and restore.
My diet hasn’t changed at all. ? Still FullyRaw vegan 14 years. NO DEPRIVATION. I’m still doing green juices, smoothies, fruits, giant salads (basically everything on my app)….I’m thriving physically and emotionally—more than I believe I ever have…and it just shows that tiny changes can make a huge difference. You don’t have to give up what you love to see results. ??
Hope this has been helpful in some way to you. I’m thinking about filming a YouTube update on this. What do you think?

Weight loss with Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

If you saw the post from Kristina above, or even follow the link before that, you’ll see that smoothies and yoga or morning run are the best chances for you to lose weight. It is true, the smoothie cannot replace a full diet, but it’s the start you need every morning.
