About the French Chicken recipe

French Chicken in Crock-Pot is a simple French recipe with slices of boneless chicken breast, diced tomatoes, red pepper, garlic, parsley, and basil. The cooking of the French chicken is very slow, but it’s worth the waiting. Besides the ingredients above, you can also add Cannellini and oregano, for a personalized taste.

This recipe is almost like Chicken Française (or Chicken Francese), an Italian-American dish of flour-dredged, egg-dipped. The Chicken Française is a dish with sautéed chicken cutlets with a lemon-butter and white wine sauce. My French Chicken recipe is a more American-French dish, where the wine and lemon are missing. Even if I took them out from the recipe’s ingredients, there would still be an amazing and delicious dish to enjoy.

This kind of reminded me of the other French recipe I have written in my cookbook, Napoleon’s Chicken Marengo with Mushrooms! It is also a variation of the original recipe but is one that will rock your taste buds.

Simple French Chicken recipe, slow cooking

This dish can be made from 3 to 8 hours of cooking, depending on the time you have in the kitchen. We recommend setting the heat on LOW and placing the mix of French chicken there for 7-8 hours. This way, all the sauce juice will be assimilated by the chicken breasts, and you’ll have a great meal. If you do not have the necessary time, set the heat to high and place the French chicken there for 3 to 4 hours.

Also used for some weight-loss diets

Chicken meat is used for many weight-loss diets. The reason chicken is always included in a healthy or weight-loss diet is that it is basically lean meat, which means it doesn’t have much fat. So, eating chicken on a regular basis can actually help you lose weight in a healthy way. Apart from protein, chicken is also chock full of calcium and phosphorous. Therefore, this French chicken recipe is a great way to lose weight… French-style!

Is it OK to eat chicken every day?

Eating chicken for multiple meals during the week isn’t proven to harm you, but a diet lacking in variation might. Aim for a diet with a diversity of meats—neither beef nor chicken has the good unsaturated fats that fish can provide! A diverse diet is always more likely to be a balanced diet. Therefore, it’s not really a good idea to eat only chicken due to the fact that the meals need to be diversified.

What is different from the usual recipe for Chicken Francaise?

Well, the Chicken Francaise dish has in its ingredients some white wine and butter. Moreover, Chicken Francaise is a hybrid recipe between Italian and French cuisine. However, mine is more American than any other cuisine, but it is called French chicken because is prepared in the same style as chicken Francaise! It has more flavor due to the added ingredients, which tend to lead to the tastes of American people, rather than European. To understand better, it’s not tastier or greater than the original recipe because it all comes down to everyone’s taste buds.

How can I tell if choosing this recipe or the original one?

Well, until you prepare both of them and take a bite from each, you can’t tell. For me, this is far greater, but this is because I have “American taste buds” and love American dishes. If you are a European citizen, you might like the original chicken Francaise recipe. But who knows, maybe an American person will love the chicken Francaise and a European person will love my recipe more. No matter what part of the world you are in, try them both!
